SBB is the national railway company of Switzerland. On a daily basis, the SBB ensures that around 1.2 million customers receive easy access to public transport and travel comfortably.

Challenge

SBB processes more than 500,000 client pictures per year for different travelcards. Most of these pictures are currently submitted in hardcopy format, leading to inefficiencies and large processing costs. To save costs and improve services, pictures have to be collected in digital format and through an efficient and customer-friendly system.

Solution

Visible Solutions developed an application which allows SBB to collect customer pictures in digital format and in near-time. SBB can send customers an SMS containing a personalized link. The link directs to a mobile optimized webpage, where customers can upload a picture from their Smartphone. The user-friendly system therefore does not require users to download an application or create a profile. Submitted pictures are assessed for compliance with SBB standards through a quality control interface.
